New and interested in miniature orchid

hello all. I'm from Malaysia.
Would anyone have any idea where to get miniature orchid in my local area?
I have been searching and most are from overseas .
The one I saw nearer to my location is Ooi Len Sun but they never reply to enquiry.
I'm guessing they just do business with whole seller?

Thank you Tony. I have personally wrote them an email enquiry 2 days ago and also pm them through FB one day ago, i didn't get any reply yet.

I will just wait and search for other local site if any.
Alot of wild rare orchid can be found in our local forest, it's just that there is so little info on where to get them.

2 days isn't a long time. Give it a few more days.

Before you harvest wild Orchids, you had better check your local laws. A lot of countries no longer permit harvesting of wild orchids. Too many species being wiped out.

Your meaning of harvesting means reproduce them ?
I'm still new and merely just want to collect 1 or 2 of them.
Most of the local people in my country are crazy for the norm like phal, den, cat...others very easily, affordable type. The expensive ones cater mostly for foreigners.

I don't think about going up to the level of harvesting or reproducing them. But luckily you mentioned them thank you, I will read them.

By harvesting them I mean, going out into the forest and picking them off the trees or ground.

I see, thank you for clarified it. And no I don't harvest them. That is the job for the expert. Probably there are people doing that since there are many natives living in the forest, they probably earn their living by doing that.

I was shocked when you assumed me of harvesting them. Anyway, willing buyers and willing sellers. Moreover as i said most buyers of expensive wild orchids were from other countries.

If such concern to be tighten in Asian country, overseas buyer will never get a chance to own them anymore.

I do hope the nursery are producing them instead of plucking them off from forest. I'm glad you brought up this concern though this matter had went off topic from this thread .
Its a good information though, you probably need to open a thread pertaining harvesting wild orchid so others with like minded could share their concern together.

I hope I did not offend you. When you mentioned that you had a lot of rare and wild orchids in the wild, and was trying to find out how to obtain them, I was worried you might obtain something that you are not allowed to have.

I did offended a little but more of a shock. I didn't mentioned "I had alot".

I said "Alot of wild rare orchid can be found in our local forest"

That referred to my country Forrest , I don't owned it.

Furthermore why would a housewife travel by plane to another state, far into the Forrest, climbing up a tree and plucking off orchid ? I don't know how to climb a tree but it's funny thinking myself doing that

Now that you mention it that is a funny thought.

I hope they do answer your emails.

Be persistent.
