Light requirement
Hi all, Does the light requirement the same for regular and miniature den? Both of my miniature Den seemed different with their leaves condition. The regular miniature Den gets partial direct sunlight which is about 2 hours in the morning whereby my other miniature which I kept near my front door shoe rack gets bright light but not direct. The one near the shoe rack seemed to have its leaves all curled up and some twisted too. I do mist them regularly and they're in Spag.moss which doesn't require regular watering. So I'm just guessing here, is it because of lightning? Last edited by Onc; 04-27-2018 at 12:04 PM. |

I'm so sorry, I do not know the i.d of my orchids. Eventhough my country mass producing orchids at large, most that sold in locals were not i.d. The courtesy of i.d them were specially only for export purposes. Here is the picture of the one near the shoe rack when I bought it and its condition now. Reason I put them near shaded area because when I bought it, it was placed near the water fountain indoor nursery area. It was potted in coconut husk stuffed into a shell. I repotted it 2 weeks ago in S.moss because I can't stand looking at its poor leaves and the coconut husks looks deteriorating kinda mashed. Now I placed it together with the other mini dendrobium which gets direct sun in the morning. ![]() |

![]() I.d - unknown mini den Reason I placed it for direct sun was because when I bought it, it was place exactly outside of the nursery where it easily gets sunlight. I repotted it 2 months ago and it's doing okay despite the not so great leaves. |

Since I have placed them together, I will monitor them and update if it gets better. Anyone with the same Den leaves condition, I'd appreciate some advice thank you. Edit: ![]() ![]() Before repotting the one near the shoe rack , I did daily watering on it. It was after I repotted it in Spag.moss I reduce watering but I still continue on daily misting.
