Burnt orchid?

I noticed damage on my phal and can only think I placed a candle too close to her. Does the damage in the photo look like it would be caused by heat or should I be concerned about something else being the cause? It doesnt seem to be spreading or getting worse. Should I do anything or just leave it as it?

Is any of the leaf tissue soft, like a mushy consistency? Or just crispy?

Yep - looks like heat damage alright. You could gently tear or cut it off at some point - but you're going to have either some brown or a "bite" out of her for a number of years - one thing that can be frustrating about orchids - you do just ONE "oops" and you get to live with the results for 2-5 years! In spite of that - looks healthy! Enjoy.....

Thank you for all your replies.
1. (-k-) No there is no mushy anywhere on the leaf or plant.
2. (ladyofthelakes) It is on the side facing away from the sun and none of my other orchids are burnt. I remember putting a candle on the window sill so I'm pretty sure it's a one time thing.
3. So take it or leave it the 'scar' will be there for a long time? I feel bad but at least it isn't going to affect my orchid any more than it has.

Thanks guys! Now to repot her because she is still in 100% spag from Walmart (yuk!)
