That would be cool to see pics of. Don't they have some sort of botanical garden right by Ohio State? I heard something about it but haven't got a chance to go yet.

Katrina- I go to Columbus every December for work. How do you keep all those orchids in your house in the winter? You must have a lot of windows or do use lights?

Hi again Katrina! Yes.. adding the bark was great! Now if only Miracle grow did that. The stuff would be awesome by itself. LOL As for my Vandas.. I have one outside right now. It's my Susan Ong "ahh moii" and it's growing a bunch of roots and more leaves. Which can only be a good sign for blooming later on this year.. (hopes) As for the vandas I have now.. I'm keeping them inside. I had a late start with putting some plants outside and I didn't want to put them out from an air conditioned home to a screaming hot 97 degrees.. Might shock them.. but they're doing fine in the bow window blooming and getting plenty of light.. (southern exposure) I'm going to have to take more pics.. My one vanda.. The Emperror (red dragon).. It was hanging and set in a plastic type of teak.. It won't stop growing.. leaves and more leaves.. But hasn't flowered since I got it.. I planted in one of my Orchid pots with that medium and now after a year.. now it's growing more roots from the inside and out of the pot.. the roots are huge like night crawlers and coming out of the orchid pots' holes.. LOL I'm really hoping that may be a sign that it may bloom again.. that one is a beauty too!

wow.. now look what you've done! I can't shut up! lmao I could sit here all day and talk about the orchids..

Oh, by the way.. I made a post about the Vanda that I just repotted.. You should take a look.. Tell me what you think hon.. Thanks again!

oh.. I almost forgot.. Last year.. I picked this orchid mix up at the Home Depot by Miracle Grow. It's made with fertilizers and small wood bark chips etc.. But mostly dirt. So that can't be too good for orchid roots.. ya know? But when I mixed it with Regular orchid mix half/half.. And then planted.. That really seemed to do the trick. In the Summer, I water maybe once a week. In winter.. Every two weeks.. "fingers crossed" So far, so good..

Ya know.. the more and more I look at these Neo's.. I'm thinking I did have it.. And it was blooming over and over again before I left it outside that one fateful winter.. LOL I looked up your Darwinara Charm and that's what brought it back to mind. And the flowers smelled like Sugar Candy.. It was awesome! So now i'm really looking forward to getting this baby back! And planting in one of my little asian pots.. I just love that!

Hi Katrina!! and for adding me! And thank you for all of your lovely complements! I couldn't believe i have such a knack for the vandas either.. But I also discovered my own home made mix/medium that i put together and the vandas love it. Especially if you're unable to water orchids everyday to every other day etc.. etc..
Thank you so much again Katrina!

Hey cym1972! I hope I'm responding to this correctly. I've just recently bought my first couple of cyms -- have no idea if they'll like living w/me -- but I love the looks of them. I have on that is the cascading type so I think I'll pot him up in a hanging basket like you've done. Very beautiful! Can't wait to see the blooms from that grouping!
