I don't exactly remember. I think the leaves get a reddish tinge to it.

The spike on my Yubae dried up. But to my surprise there's another spike. I hope that one lasts to bloom. (fingers crossed)

I'm off to visit family this Labor day weekend. Have a good one!

LOL...I'm having a hard time holding back. I've been eyeing a couple mini/small Aerangis that are fragrant and am getting closer to placing an order!

It's weird that I can wait 'til next month to buy more Neos. I think it's because I want the Hokage and know that NWO doesn't have it. That helps. Hmm...I hope Satomi will have one at the show. (fingers crossed)

Think of it this way...you can never overwater a mounted orchid.

Yes, I plan on going to OrchidFest. Since I've committed myself to some volunteer work on 9/20, I plan on going that Sunday, 9/21. I hope they will still have a good selection that day. Which day will you be going?

I swear it's not my fault! It's not an addiction, it's an infection. Also highly contagious. LOL I'm sorry you caught my Neo disease. Achoo. sniff. sniff.

I bought my Chilo. usenoides for $35, from Odom's Orchids. Honestly, I like the shape of the grapewood that it's mounted on. OHG mounted theirs on narrow branch-like mounts. I'm thinking of re-mounting them on driftwood or grapewood.

Is OHG totally out of ghost orchid?! They went rather quick!

I'll keep an eye out for them online.

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question earlier. The mount that the ghost orchid is on is about 6 or 7" long. The spikes were about 8" or so long.

Go for it! Check Oak Hill. I think they still have some left. My award winning ghost is a Chiloschista usneoides.

With the Chilochista, I water/mist up to two times a day and soak once a week. Sometimes, I don't water it for a day or two. I grow it under four fluorescent tubes, about 8" away.
