12/05/2008 The Panic has subsided

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted about these two, so better update.

I have had them under my wing now for a month and have had no leaf loss. You can see in the pic the leaves are more relaxed and they look great. (I need a big YAY! smilie inserted here) Both the S/H potted one and the one in the cocohusk blend are doing exceptionally well. Way better than the others that I slaughtered.

I let them dry out a lot more before the next watering than what I did with my other ones. (except for the one in the S/H of course) I still water them everyday, even with the excessively dry conditions of my apartment. Right now the humidity is 34%. It's a lot more humid now than what it was earlier. It was hovering around 30%.

Got Chapstick anyone? LoL

I say yours are looking great. Looks real healthy. Think I might have some hope. Mine are still OK too but I haven't re-potted either.

I think they look great too! My room has been hovering around 33 percent too! Even with the one gal humidifier running non stop. I brought in the the big one that is supposed to output 12 gal in 24 hours but either I can't figure out how to work it or i need to get some new filters for it or something, lol. Mine had two new growths but they have shriveled up :-( in the dry dry air.

mine is doing as well as yours - your leaves seem to have gotten darker, or is that due to lighting?

quick question: anyone know how long it takes a leaf to unfurl as it grows out? mine seems to have been unfurling for the last 3 or 4 wks now...

It's from the lighting in the pic. The color of the leaves are still the same as the day they came in the mail.

Your's look good. Mine is hanging on. No new growth, but no more leaf drop after the first incident.
