Growths everywhere, but no spike.

Mine has 16 growths/leaves in various stages, and it looks like it might have a spike. I don't want to jinx it by saying I am positive but it looks good.

Mine is suffering from sun burn from being in the greenhouse. I put it outdoors now with the Cyms. At least I haven't killed it off completely yet. I'm just praying it'll stay alive. Forget blooms. That's too ambitious for me. Jay, you better keep one extra on hand just in case I need a replacement fast. LOL!!!

i went to al's yesterday and he had several of these in four inch pots, blooming like CRAZY. he said they all started out in the little thumb pots; they literally had dozens of flowers each. mine's still popping little things out--here's hoping they're flowers.

lucky, Joe! i see new growth but not sure if that comes as a spike or flower. need the magnifying glass... i'll wait a bit and let you know. but so far - no leaf loss so far! the moss is even coming back to life again - so that's reassuring

okay, so should i be worrying that the little project masdie is dropping occasional mature leaves? they don't seem to be rotting or anything, they'll just drop off when i pick the plant up to water. it's still putting out new growths.... TIA.

Janet I had about 8 leaves fall off right after I got it and it was thought to be too warm. I moved it to a north facing windowsill (few options) into the AC. That room now gets hot with afternoon sun so I've moved it to an east facing windowsill. I recently had it out on my work area (bar in the patio, to my husband's dislike) and the cat (a plant chewer) pulled it clean out of the pot just as I reached for him. There are no new roots, but I think I saw 2-3 tiny green dots. Now I'm only seeing one tiny green dot and am hoping it makes it and becomes a leaf. It has had a rough go of it. |

hmm, well it was certainly happy up against the windows in the winter where it was about 55 degrees, but it's probably 70 or so now...i try to keep it closer to the A/C vents, but the A/C isn't set all that high during the day...

Hi this is an intermediate growing species. I have them in a room that gets to mind 70s with no harm in fact I have one in a 4 inch pot that I stopped counting the blooms at 40 yesterday leaf drop is a common problem with all masd. I find over watering and lack of air circulation a cause.

ok, well it's definitely staying damper since the humidity's about 70%, but there's a fan pointing at the plants 22/7. i won't worry about it.

Oh I totally missed this thread when it was first posted! Mine is still putting out new growths like crazy. I think since I've received it, it's probably added 15 or so leaves. It's getting bushy now, but no bloom spikes yet. |
