a SoCal Masdie...

the Masd. herr. finally arrived!

it came in great condition just as most users here have shown, and the moss was still damp. i gave it a supplemental sip enliven it.

it came w/ another plant purchased from Joe - thank you!

thanks, guys!

here are some photos after the setup tonight; i didn't want to tackle repotting this until late next year. i'm happy keeping it in Sphag medium for now.

- the first 2 show the plant in the condition they arrived in.

- 3rd photo shows the plant after i designated a new pot for it; i thought it was very fitting

- the last image shows the impromptu growing area by the East Window. the plants going counter clockwise are:
  • SLC Love Castle Kurenai
  • Phal NOID
  • Onc. Twinkle (Oncidium cheirophorum x Oncidium ornithorhynchum)
  • Den. Zeschia Lynn
  • Masd. Herr.
  • Onc. Twinkle 'Fragrance Fantasy'

I love the panda pot. It's too cute. I got my Masdie today too. Haven't decided what to do with it yet.

thanks! it's getting a bit crowded there but this is the needs-constant-monitoring part of my collection.

what you guys don't see is the empty second tier at the bottom that still receives light.

hope the bug doesn't bite and i decide to fill that tray, too

If any of the leaves on the Mas. go missing you will only have the Panda to blame. I am sure that the plant will bloom beautifully.

that's too funny! thanks, Bill!

and thanks, all - as my niece says, the pot is 'cutie-patootie'!

that was a second-hand find about to go to the bin from someone at work whose plant had died.

the fisherman pot for Den. Zeschia Lynn also came from the same individual (i'm glad they killed their plants, hehe).

Your sick person to be happy gaining pots at the expense of innocent plants

I shake my head sadly.
A moment of silence for plants that have fallen before ours.
It's always a shame when a parent outlives their plant.

or the pot, for that matter

but there is always a sense of fulfillment matching the right pot to the right plant - the joys of Rescue work!
