Hi Everyone, I'm new to orchids and this forum but am looking forward to learning alot. I only have four orchids right now but want to keep them alive and so I will be reading all I can! Also was hoping I would get tips on what orchids are good for growing outside in Southern Calif.

Cymbidiums, Reedstemed epidendrums, some of the oncidiums, maybe some Sobralias. You need to visit the Santa Barbara Orchid Estates (SBOE). They specialize in outdoor growing orchids. If you can make any of the big events in Santa Barbara, SBOE will have their $7.50 specials out and they are usually marked for temperature. Enjoy, from a S. Calif. escapee. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ

Thanks for the info Cynthia. I will have to try some of them and I will definetely vist the SBOE. I go right by there in a few weeks on my way up the coast and will stop by. I think I missed their big orchid event a month ago.
