desertgal is on a distinguished road
Hi from Southern California Desert

Hi all! I received my first phalaenopsis orchid on Mother's Day 2005.
I babied it for a year and it bloomed again this Mother's Day. Since then I
have added several Phals and my goal is to have at least one blooming all the time. My biggest concern is that since I have to live under air conditioning at least 4 months of the year it is hard to get the necessary
difference in temperature to get them to bloom.

Maybe you should set up a special room or closet where you can control the temp and day length, that is how commercial growers get Phals to bloom all year, OR, start growing other types of orchids to get a variation in bloom seasons. I started an orchid Society here in Prescott, and always have enough orchids in bloom every month to fill a display table. This is because I grow very diverse stuff, and have a small greenhouse and can grow enough to always have a goodly number of plants to display. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
