| Hello and welcome to the forum! There really is a lot of information here and a lot of people willing to help. First, we do need to know what kind of orchid you have. I have a couple of other questions that will help with the advise as well. How often do you water your orchid? What kind of pot is it in? Where do you keep it in the house? If in a window, which way does the window face? How long have you had it? If you have a picture of it now it will really help members give advise. Look forward to hearing more and seeing pictures of your orchid. |

| Hi Chickita and welcome to the forum! ![]() First off if you could please goto your profile and update your profile location. We have members across the world and different locations = different advice. Pics would be great for this, but I also think that you are doing a few things incorrectly. One is underwatering. Phals like their medium slightly damp before the next watering. They don't like to dry out completely. Another is misting at night. This can pose a potential threat of crown rot. Third is the lack of air flow to the plant. Just a door opening every now and then isn't sufficient enough. Phals like constant airflow that is light. This prevents rot and fungus from growing on the plant. A pic of your plant is highly suggested so we can see what is going on. As for the yellowing of the leaves it could be natural courses of the older leaves dying off, but then again, it could be something else.

| Tatum - Sounds like a great place in the summer. The flowers falling off is not a big deal. The leaves getting wrinkled could be. Generally this means that the plant is not getting enough water. This could be due to getting over watered causing the roots to get rot and die, which would prevent the plant from getting enough water. It could also mean that you are not watering enough and it is dehydrated. I would use the skewer method for checking when to water. Skewer use for watering of orchids What kind of media is it planted in? Is it bark or moss? You might want to make sure the roots look good. |

| Hi and welcome. You can insert the skewer carefully feeling for the resistance of the roots. Then once you get it in avoiding the roots, you use the same hole when you reinsert the skewer. If you still feel comfortable doing that, you can always use your finger to feel if the moss is moist in the center before watering.
