Hi Everyone I am from just outside Indianapolis, IN a small historic town called Pendleton.

My first Orchid addiction began this past winter on a Cruise aboard Holland American Lines. They have Orchids everywhere. Each time we sat down to eat I would see a new one that I just had to have.

When we got back to Florida I just picked up two Phals to have while we were South. When it was time to come home they looked so good I couldn't leave them ; so we packed them into a box and into the car for the two day trip home. I even covered them from the cold and rushed them into the hotel since it was soooo cold.

While out shopping one day this loving little Orphan was on sale for $3.00; believe me it was scrawny. So home it came. Found another for $17.00 at the grocery that is Gorgeous. So now we are Four. I will post photos as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Just reading this site has helped me tremendously. Especially the Skewer test and needs for water and feeding. You people have been great.

Terry - Hello and welcome to the forum. Looks like you have already found some great threads (skewer method) to help with your new hobby. I look forward to hearing about your new orchids and seeing pictures of them too. We love pictures, which I am sure that you are aware of that already.

I used to live in Indianapolis, and there are a few other members from Indiana already.

So what kind of orchids do you have so far?

Hi! and welcome! There is an greenhouse in Indy on the north west side called Hoosier Orchids (I am feeding your growing addiction here, lol) that has a wonderful variety of orchids if you need more, lol!
