growing orchids in...Michigan

Hello to you all.

I started to work in a garden center a few years ago, and since I have tried to grow just about every other plant, it was likely inevitable that orchids would end up in my home.
Along with new lighting, trays, shelves and clips.

I've done some learning the hard way and gotten lucky with some other things.

One thing is for sure: growing orchids is easier that growing ferns in the home

I look forward to asking questions and all that other good stuff.

Welcome Mariejoe. Sounds like a neat job you got. Although I think I'd be in trouble bringing all the plants from work home. I'm even banned from going near a home depot. too much temptations. Nice to have you and post some pics of what you have when you get a chance.

Mariejoe,

You're in an ideal location! There are several good orchid societies and many nurseries in your area. Lots of shows and orchid activities. I lived in Ann arbor for about 12 years and was a member of the Ann Arbor Orchid Society for about 5 years.

cheers!

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I'll post some pictures when I can, I do have some orchids in bloom now. Only phals.

Yes, Michigan is a good place to be.
I did join the Michigan Orchid Society, but missed their Palm Sunday sale this year.
Maybe next year.
