Exclamation Hi I'm new here!

Hi, I am a member of the memphis orchid society and I have been growing orchids for 5 years now.

My collection includes:
Paph. Magic Pulsar
Slc. Hawaiian Splash 'Lea'
Phal. Melody
Phal. Be Tris Maplewood (mini)
Phal. Kaleidoscope
Phal. Phenang Girl
Phal. Brother Pirate King x Happy Jewel 'Peppermint'

I also do African Violets and my apartment looks like a jungle with all my other various houseplants. I'm new to paphs so if anyone has good advice about them, all I know is that they are similar to phals and thats how I have been treating it.
Thanks!

Trying Paphopedilums

Hi Lacerr.
Welcome to this site.
I am a newbie too.
such a wonderfull friendly/helpfull lot.

I grow lots of paphs and they are fairly easy if a few rules are followed.
For new Paph growers I would recommend reading some of the wonderful articles on Paphs by Antec Lab. at Slipper Articles.

In Australia they are just starting to come into the main flowering season
this also one of the very easy insigne group to grow Paphiopedilum insigne var 'Sanderae'

Any questions fire ahead.

Cheerio
Ron

well, I am curious at how sensitive they really are to softened water. I take all the metals and chlorine out. I do know that the salts/ppm are almost zilch in my water, way below the level that starts to harm plants, like spider plants (very sensitive).
I water all of my orchids with my tap water and they all do just fine. (artesian spring water).
