I won an orchid!!

Hello everyone! I'm so glad to find you.

I'm an American living in northern Italy. In the small towns here, much like in the small towns at home, there are festivals for various kinds of food, plants, etc. Tonight, I went to a neighboring town's celebration of roses and snails. (The snails that you eat!)

To make a long story short, I won an orchid in a drawing! How lucky am I?!

How unlucky is the orchid, however. This is my first houseplant, and I know orchids are special. I will come back later with the type of orchid, and hopefully, I can keep it alive. The only plants I have ever cared for lived outside...vegetables, moss roses, and an apple tree.

I'm so glad to find this forum! Thanks for reading my long intro! I'll try not to be so long-winded in the future.

You and the plant will be fine. Let us know what type it is & you will get plenty of information here
