Better late than never?

Well, I've already jumped in and asked questions but I guess I should introduce myself as well. As you can see by my profile I live in St Petersburg although its actually the suburb called Kenneth City. I grew roses for around 15 years but a combination of back problems and growing problems with a autoimmune disease called Lupus has restricted me down to 12 miniature roses in my front walkway.

We had an orchid sale to benefit breast cancer at work on Tuesday and Wednesday and I wound up buying several (6) orchids there. Then on my way home yesterday I stopped off at a new store I had been eyeing for several weeks and bought 3 for $20 - all phals. I just went out this morning and bought 3 books about orchids. The plants have all been placed on a table outside my living room window both so that I can see them from my computer and so I can care for them without bending over. Two of my orchids are not yet in bloom. Only one of them has a name - Everspring Light. Most of the rest were tagless, two had cross tags on them.

Pictures can be seen at Orchids - a photoset on Flickr

Yay! Congratulations on your new chids! Also thanks for supporting breast cancer research! I've many friends that are survivors as well as my mom. I do the walk every year. With all the new plants and books, I would say that you're definately an addict! Good luck with the new babies.

Jirel - Welcome to the forum. Very nice couple of days for acquisitions. I really like those Phals. Very nice variety and colors.

You are well on your way to being an addict. But that's ok, as may have read on some other threads, they make good medicine.
