Hello Again

I joined awhile ago and introduced myself but since it's been awhile I figured I would say hi again.
I had bought a baby orchid from Lowes awhile ago. The poor thing died last July. So I decided to give up orchids for awhile. Every time I went to Lowes or any flower shop I would look at the orchids and wish I could get them. Well today I went to the flea market and they had a garden shop. They had these beautiful orchids for 9.95. It's pretty large too (I couldn't even hold it in my lap in the car ride because it hit the vans roof), normally Lowes would charge 30 to 40 for something this size and this one has 3 plants coming off of it. All of the flowers are still buds so I will get to watch them bloom. The couple I bought the orchids from gave me a detailed rundown on how to take care of the orchid so this time I feel more prepared. They even showed me how to properly water the orchid. I am excited about this one and plan on taking lot of pictures.

So I just wanted to say Hi again and let you guys know I am giving it a second chance. So Hi again and I hope this time I can share some beautiful pictures of of my orchid for you.

Hello livvylove! Do you know what type of orchid you got? If its that large, perhaps a cymbidium? It's good the couple gave you some advice on how to take care of it. Hopefully things will turn out better this time around Good luck growing!

That is the one thing I forgot about asking but I'm sure it's a pretty common orchid because the ones that where in bloom looked similar to ones I have seen photos of online. I will be sure to take some photos of it tomorrow and when it starts to bloom. I'm happy to be giving it another shot, hopefully with success this time.

Hi Livvylove and welcome back to the forum. Can you update your profile and give your location so when you ask for advice the other members can understand your growing area. This will be a big help to the members who give you advice. Can't wait to see the pics!

Thanks everyone. I updated my profile with the information I have. I don't know what kind of Orchid it is yet, next time I go to the Flea Market I will stop by their shop and ask them.

Congratulations you are the proud owner of a Dendrobium! By the looks of it, a Phalaenopsis type.
