Hi (and welcome) Marih - tell us a little about yourself. What kind of orchids do you grow and how long have you been growing?

HI

I have a Den nobile (mounted), Den Kingianiums, and a Butterfly orchid? I have the Den Kingianium now for almost 4 years and it have never bloomed since i got them. Sad. I recently repotted it into 3 pots and its growing very nicly. I just hope it will bloom soon.

I'm really glad i found this site and that i can be a member. Thanks for welcoming me.

Jenny - I figured out what to do with mine... I gave them all away. Well I kept 3. And today I fund 4 spikes on one of them. COOL! Hope they don't turn out to be keikis!

I'm going to gut it through and stick it out. I have this one I've seen pics of and come hell or high water, I'm gonna see it bloom! It has vibrant yellow orange and some red in it and wow, I just have to see for myself. That's why I bought them in the first place. Such lovely blooms, but man they seem like a pain.

Keikis never hurt. The more, the better! LoL.

I sure don't need keikis on this plant. It is currently in an 8" basket. LOL

Hi and welcome to the forum Marih. Where abouts in S. Africa are you located? Would
love to visit there as well. Please post a pic of your 'chids when you can. Phal. type
Dendrobiums I have no problem with. Nobile types on the other hand, they are still all alive,
but I haven't mastered the blooming of them yet.

Hi everyone. All my orchids is in my kitchen 'cause it's got the most light and have afternoon sun coming through. At the moment it's the best place for them (Small Flat). Moving soon so I hope I can find a place with the best lighting for them. At the moment I live in Johannesburg and the air can be a bit dry so I spray all my orchids once a day. Is that ok?

Hi, I'm a newbie here myself,

I don't know whether this helps at all but I have a Dendrobium Kingianum Alba which has flowered for the last 5 years. I was told to keep it dry from December to April and only start watering again once I saw new growth.

You don't specify if you are doing this, as if the plant is not rested it will not flower.
