I'm NEW!

Hello,

I'm new to Orchid Geeks. I've been growing orchids for a couple years but haven't been very successful up till now. Currently, I have a one year old phal. that I actually got to rebloom! YEAH!!! So I think I finally have figured out the intricacies of orchid watering (I'm sure that's how I killed the previous ones). My blooming phal. is pictured in my avatar. I also have a pretty miniature yellow phal. that is also a year old (twinkle something). It had a very poor root system when I bought it and I thought I was going to lose it, but it has recently put out five very fat and very green roots and has grown two new leaves. Another success story I think! I'm just waiting for it to rebloom, but I am happy it is concentrating all it's energy to getting healthy first. My most beloved orchid, that I unfortunately killed, was a gorgeous miniature onc. It was so cute and had a pretty fragrance. I'd like to find another onc. some day. Perhaps Sharry baby!

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am greatly looking forward to learning all there is to learn about orchids and orchid care from this forum!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I updated my profile. I'm from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I also posted a picture of my phal. It suffered frost damage when I moved in December of this year so one of the leaves has been trimmed and another one is kind of splotchy, but it is producing a new leaf right now so it will look better soon! It's also producing roots so I think it's healthy despite the abuse =S
