Hello

I am a new member as of today and I am looking forward to learning everything I can from fellow orchid geeks. I am a computer guy by trade (=double geek) living out of suburban philadelphia.

My addiction started with a Moth orchid that I picked up at Lowe's this past winter and is quickly snowballing. I now also have a Laelia purpurata var. carnea and a small ghost (Polyrrhiza lindenii).

I am open to any tips, advice, and/or general conversation.

Welcome, greg. This is the place to be to learn about orchids, to commiserate about failures, and to celebrate successes!

I'm with ya greg! I too am a computer geek (almost done with my CCNA certification) Anyway, not the point. I've found that plant collecting (primarily Orchids) which is a relatively new hobby of mine, has drawn me away from the computer a bit, and it's surprizingly a very nice change.

yeah, it is kind of nice to switch gears and work with something alive for a change. Very theraputic given our line of work.
