| Hello All Hello All, I am brand new to the Orchid Forum I am not that new to orchids but I am new to anything but phals. I have tried to branch out a little and purchased some plants on ebay from Nia's Orchids. From what I can tell the plants in general look really healthy. Since this was an experiment I bought several kinds. 1 Catt (Blc. Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hua') 2 Wils. Gay Spice 'Pacific Pal' 3 Odbrs. Iridescent 'Pacific Princess' I have found a load of info on the catt but not much on the other 2. I have found some information on other wilsonara. Lot of generic info of the Oncidium Alliance. but I am looking for more specific info on growing conditions. Light, water, medium, temp. Since these were an experiment they are just babies still on the plug. Any info would be great. |

| well aboard. You need to update your profile as different area (country) has different advise. What i did locally would probably wipe your orchids dry , may be cooked. |

| Thanks for the info every one. I have updated my profile with my location (Atlanta GA). I had read the Oncidium Culture sheet but the light conditions and temp varied so I was not sure if this was a warm or more moderate temp hybrid. I did contact the ebay seller and asked for the conditions. They responded right away with some helpful info. My name does imply my growing ability, but thankfully orchids seem to be the only plant that I have any success with. I rescued my first orchid from the 50% off rack at Lowes 5 years ago. It is now huge, healthy and happy and has flowered every year for me. I think I am up to about 11 now not including my new additions, so I am still a novice. I am also a complete newbie on anything other than phals. |

| Hi there and welcome to the forum!!! Anything that is Oncidium Alliance to me tend to be thirsty little boogers. They don't like their roots to be completely dry before the next watering so make sure that there roots are slightly damp for the next watering. You say they are still in their plugs. Are these guys still seedlings? Pics are a thousands words. If these are seedlings, you don't want nothing more but partial or filtered light anyway. Anything more might burn them. Air circulation is the key.

| Yes, they are seedlings. Way to jump in with two feet, right! I have them in much lower light in a seperate room than any of my others just in case. I do not have a humidity tray so I put some small rocks with water in a large serving tray and lifted the plants up slightly by inverting the bottom of the clay saucer. They are in 3 inch clay pots with Better-Gro Special Orchid Mix. But I left then on the plugs. Have I killed them already? |

| Nah, I don't think so. I think they're fine. I have a couple of seedlings that are in clay pots, one Catt and two Dens. Everyone grows different and have different conditions.
