Hello from central florida!

Hello everyone! Glad to find this wonderful forum. Just a little about me: I have had orchids for about 8 years but only the regular easy to find white phals and dendro's. I have recently gotten into the hobby seriously for the past 3 years, have started going to conventions and recently (yesterday) went to the 19th World Orchid Conference in Miami!!!! WOO HOO!!! That was awsome! Well, thought I'd join to keep learning more and more.

Thanks everyone! The convention was BEAUTIFUL!!! And yes OF COURSE I took pictures! Took so many not quite sure which ones to post!

and I also bought 6 new orchids to add to my collection. Two of them should be blooming soon I hope. I need to take new pictures of them since these that I took were only of their names and before I re potted them. Most of these are new ones that I have never tried before so we will have to see how they do under my care. I really don't stick with just one species, pretty much anything beautiful goes for me...

This one below is one my boyfriend bought, it's a new hybrid and we have no idea how it will look when it blooms.

Sure looks like you did have a field sday at the WOC. I'm soooooo jealous. Looking forward to see all them flowers when they bloom.

Thanks everyone! Believe me, when I went to the WOC I made sure I had some money on me, (wish I'd had more)! You guys know we won't ever really find many kinds in regular stores around town! LOL! OH don't worry, I will definitely take pictures when they bloom so I can share.

Hi! What a great time you must have had! I'm going to my first show in April(thanks, Tobi!) My daughter just started a 7 month work/study internship at Disney, so she's down in orchid country! Good luck with your new plants!

Thanks though! Exasperatus yes....I saw the sample plant that they had and I just fell in love with the color. I knew I forgot to take pictures of the other sample plants...I'll keep that in mind next time I plan on buying more babies. If anyone has had any experience with the plants that I bought, suggestions on their care would help me a lot. I've been reading on them and they seem to be like any other orchid you read about....they can have a mind of their own...LOL! We'll just have to see how they do I guess....
