Hi, Debbie! I lived in Biloxi, Mississippi for a couple of years during the 80's myself. I'm sure it doesn't really snow much on the Gulfcoast, but I remember it did one Saturday night in March, 1980. It's pretty cold up here in NY, but no snow yet. Don't worry Spring's coming.

jbigio, I love your English Bulldog. It's a dream of mine to buy a puppy for my wife, but right now we have two little parakeets that are potty trained and have the run of the house. I am afraid of introducing a young bulldog into the mix. Probably wouldn't be any problem though, Right?

I just read the sticky on how to post photos, I'll take some pictures and give it a try, cause I have some questions about my Oncidium, and I want people to see what I'm talking about.

Wow!

Out of the thousands and thousand of orchids out there I also have a King Shiangs Rose and an 'Alice Girl'. It's a small world!!

I'm a newbie too. I have about 15.

My most recent success is a Masdevillia that I placed under a Bell Jar.

I'm about 2 yrs old. Have had a lot of luck with two books. " Orchids for Dummies" and "Growing Orchids" by Brian and Wilma Ritterhausen. Welcome and Good Luck!!!!

Terrie

My 3 Bullies and my 2 Boxers have all grown up in a house full of all kinds of animals. It’s all how you train them from the start. Having said that you will find boxers learn at the speed of light, Bulldogs learn at there own pace which is usually at a stand still unless it involves FOOD!
They do make the best dogs with kids of all ages. I've bred them for ten years now.

LTerrieM,

Small world indeed! Although I must admit my Alice Girl is a rescue effort. I got her the other day at Home Depot ($14.99 value but for free believe it or not!). The Orchid display there was the usual disaster area. This particular Girl was begging me to rescue her (I'm not hearing voices or anything!) And somehow I convinced the clerk to escort me to the door with it in hand at no charge. I believe it has a case of scales. I'll post pictures tomorrow for those that can identify what it is for sure. I believe she is quite salvageable. I've treated the leaves with insecticide soap. And of course she is quarrantined from the rest of my plants. By the way, I'm a little paranoid as to how far away constitutes "quarrantined"? I know scales are crawlies.Opinions please.
