Vicki

I'm new to orchids. Just received one as a gift. I have some questions about where to put it. My home faces south and I really don't have anywhere in the house that gets enough light. Is it possible to put it outside?

Florida, the best place for orchids, till you know what type of orchid you have place the plant in bright shade away from any direct sunlight. Let us know what type of orchid you have and I can send you some links to get you started. Welcome to a life long addiction.

Thanks, Ryan, your answer. I'm not sure how to spell it, but the name begins with Phala... - also known as a Moth Orchid. I would love some links...I have no idea what to do. I'll appreciate any assistance you can give.

here is the culture sheet for Phals from American Orchid Society

"orchidweb.org/aos/uploadedfiles/docs/culturephals.pdf"

you can get other orchid culture sheets from here
"orchidweb.org/aos/orchids/page01.aspx"

this is a nice site as well
"how-to-grow-orchid.com/orchid-care_1.htm"

ok remove the quotes from the above link and prefix it with a "www" and a "." -- I am new over here and am not allowed to post links, sorry for the go around
