| Hello Hi, I noticed this forum online and it looks like it will be a good place for me to learn about orchids. Although I love orchids and am generally pretty good with plants, I seem to have some trouble with these beautiful plants. Hopefully that will change soon! |

| Hello too! This summer I developed the orchid addiction! I have about 30 now...since June! Almost every weekend or so, I am back to the Santa Barbara Orchid Estate (only 2 miles from my home) getting another one or two. At the local orchid show I netted a bunch! They tell me our climate is suitable for most types to be outside year round. I have many in baskets and I love them mounted with their interesting roots. So far so good...they all look pretty healthy. So.....at what point do I need therapy?

| Welcome! Let us know what types of orchids you're interested in and we'll be able to direct you to cultural info etc. Maybe check out the free culture sheets found at www.aos.org

| Welcome to the forum Karen! I am sorry to say, I believe you are beyond therapy. At least I have 100 miles between me and SBOE or I would be in your boat. My pulse races just thinking about that place!

| Hey, I know it's been awhile, but things got a bit hectic with trying to get settled in. I joined the forum right after my husband and I moved from Savannah, GA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Unfortunately, I lost several plants (Orchid and other) the day that we got here due to the heat. I tried to get them out of the car quickly, but apparently I wasn't quick enough. At the moment, these are the orchids that I have: Oncidium Sharry Baby, Vanilla, Ludisia discolor, 2 mystery dendrobiums (pretty sure they're not nobile), a Dendrobium spectabile, Maxillaria schunkea, Dissinia mamorata var. Dayii, and a Schomburgkia thomsoniana. As soon as my camera is recharged, I'll put up pics of their location and potting. |

| Hello Jmurphy77 and Karen, and I want to welcome both of you to the forum. Can't wait to see both of your orchids. Post pics please. Karen~ Sorry no therapy needed, as there is no cure.
