| Now that is a name to conjure up some dreamy thoughts. Just imagine drifting along a padang in a prau paddled by two-no, why be mean, three delightful balinese ladies and being fed Ikan bilis with half shells of coconut filled with borak to drink!! Sorry Anton, doing it again. Easily carried away these days ( maybe I should be ). Hope your Bali flask turns out to be full of quality plants. Bill |

| Actually I misspoke in my earlier post. Arleneg is correct that the orchids we call "black" are usually dark marroon/brown. There are no truly black pigmentations in orchids so even the black in Coelogyne pandurata which looks black to our eye is actually a dense concentration of multiple pigments. There are a few Maxillarias that have "black" flowers, one is the dark form of Max variabilis. There are some super dark Paph hybrids too like Paph Larry Bird.

| I saw one today that was very close to black, it was actually a noid at trager joe's and was sucha deep purple that it looked black until the light hit it! I almost brought it home, but some of it's leaves were suspicious looking, so I got a phal for my bathroom! |
