Introduction

I am a retired grandmother living north of Houston, Texas, with a small greenhouse (overfull of course). I am a member of the AOS and the Houston Orchid Society and the editor of the Orchids page at BellaOnline.com (http://www.bellaonline.com/Site/Orchids).

I grow mostly Cattleyas, although I have quite a few Dendrobiums and seem to have better luck with them than other types. My greenhouse faces west, so my biggest problem is keeping the heat down during the summer.

I just got my first Paph last month at the society meeting and it's starting to bloom for me. I also have my first Phrag inflorescence starting, so am thrilled with these two new genera.
