New...and totally hooked!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, I've posted recently to get advice on repotting, which was a big help. I just got my first orchid last week, which has grown to 6 today thanks to a new shipment of big healthy orchids at a local shop.

I have four phals, one paph (which I'm waiting to see if she survives repotting), and a new lavender Doritaenopsis, a hybrid I'd never heard of until I looked it up today!

Sounds like you are well on your way! Now all you need to do is attend a few orchid shows and possbily join a local orchid society and that 6 will transform to 60 in no time!

Mercedes, anything you want to know, you'll find it all here but if it's giving in to temptation in buying 'just one more' orchid that you're having a problem with and need support from us, well.....fuggetaboutit!!!!!!!

They are all very nice in here, Mercedes. But be warned that they will somehow make your orchid fever worse.

My advice is that you find a good orchid doctor( = orchid vendor) who has the means to control the 'illness', albeit symptomatically.
