| I have admired orchids for years but found them expensive and seemingly too difficult to grow. After my beloved venus flytrap died, and I could not find another one, I bit the bullet and got my first Phal. After I brought her home, I started doing some reading and realized that she was not in the best of health with wilted, dark green leaves. I have nursed her back to health (after getting tons of advice from various forums). I also found two suffering orchids at the grocery store on sale (one for $2 and one for $3 -- no blossoms) and they are now being nursed back to health. These three orchids are now friends (two phals, one dendrobium) and they are sitting side by side on my screened porch enjoying the Georgia summer. So far, so good. I am glad to find this forum in case I get into trouble. |

| We might be on the "other side of the pond" but i too have several phals that i am nursing back to health I highly recomend Worm tea both for misting and for soaking the phals in when they need water Why not start your own wormerie ( you only need a large bucket / container with a lid and a tap in the bottom plus some Brandling/tiger worms from a fishing shop ) then you can compost all your kitchen waste and have a free supply of worm tea for your orchids and worm compost for other plants |

| Hi and welcome. We do have a lot of fun here. As you can see Fred gets the giggles (he is also very naughty and has to confess to the orchid doctor constantly).

| I am going to see the doctor tomorrow. Found some pathetic ones at the local Wal Mart, and am going in to talk them into a major discount. I am also going to order the Mini Mark Holm this weekend from Oak Hill. I have almost filled my four prescriptions as ordered by you and the orchid doctor. Hee hee. Whoo hoo more medicine, I have been so naughty. Sorry for hijacking your thread mswmom. I get carried away (so does Fred lol)
