Thanks for the Welcome!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the welcome that I have recieved Great to hear from fellow Tasmanians,Aussies as well as the replies from Canada and Romania( The world seems a smaller place) .
Fred, I heard about this forum at our monthly Orchid Society Meeting and I have to say that 3 of us Tasmanian's are from the same Society.
I am sure I will enjoy being a part of Orchidgeeks.com and hope to learn heaps and have some fun too.
Balero, well I think once a Tasmanian always Tasmanian, but I dont have any scars( I think you will know what I am referring to?)
I am hoping to get to know a few of you through our mutual interest and swap thoughts and knowlege. I have quite a variety of Orchids(all cool growing ) but my main interest is in Masdevallias. I have over 200 different Masdevallia's, both species and hybrids.

Hi and welcome! I'd imagine Tassie is about as ideal for growing Masdevallias as one can get without going to their native habitat. If they haven't already folks will start asking for pics It's a good group of folks. It'll be nice to have a Masdevallia 'expert' on board.

Cheers

hort power: Welcome aboard. I definitely agree, a Masdevallia 'expert' will be a big help. There are a couple of us who are Masd newbies. I recently purchased 3 and am trying to figure out the best location and set up for them.

Hi there, Would love to post some pics of a few of my Masdevallia's but am having trouble with the sizes of my photo files, when I have worked out how to resize them I will surely post some for those who have'nt seen one, or those who are interested in seeing a few in my collection.
Its also taking me a while to work out what I am doing in the forum as well, I guess I will work it out as some stage soon.

Hi there Fred, I was surprised that pic appeared, I tried to load it into my Avitar and had a message saying that there was a problem with the upload so thought it hadnt worked. The pic's of one of my Masdevallia's called' Tiger Kiss Grr', I was given 1st place at a meeting for it in the Novice Masdevallia Class.
If I work out how to upload more pics and where to, I will be more than happy too.

I take it your avatar is an example of a Massy. I love it. I guess I am leaning toward unusual orchid flowers, Brassia, Massy, hmmmm..... I can't wait to see more!

hort_power - how hard is it to ID a Masd without tag? Right now mine are all NoID.

Here is a pic of the orange one. The other 2 are the same but they are golden yellow.
