Hello from Pittsburgh

A big hello from freezing Pittsburgh. It's 17 degrees here, but my orchids are warm and comfy under lights in my sunroom at home. I'm a very enthusiastic novice --my collection outweighs my knowledge. I thought it was time to join my fellow orchid growers to learn and share what I do know. I have 5 Phals., 4 Oncidiums, 2 Miltonias, 10 Denbrobiums (that have never bloomed), 5 Cattleyas, 1 Cymbidium and 3 Vandas. I've been lucky--many of my plants have bloomed through a bit of luck and the best of intentions. I'm completely hooked. I am really out of room, but that never stops me from buying. A little shifting and jostling here and there and I seem to find space. Well, that's it for now--time to get busy posting my questions! See you in the forums. Liz

Welcome from freezing Chicago

Hi Liz. Welcome.

Sounds like you have nice collection. My Phals. are all in bloom right now. They're about the only thing bringing some cheer with this cold weather - it's about 16 degrees right now. Have fun on the forum.

Thank you! My Phals are just starting to spike. Yes, I agree, they bring some cheer to this extra cold (and snowy) winter. Liz
