| Hi Leslie I'm also from the Chicagoland area. I'm fairly new to growing orchids, but my best luck so far has been with my Phals. They're in bloom for the second time since late last summer. I have mine in a West window, a blind on the window to keep off the sun. They're very forgiving and I really think they like our Chicago weather. You'll find great advice on this forum. Be sure to check out Cynthia's skewer method for watering. The Phals. don't like to be over or under watered. Skewer use for watering of orchids |

| Leslie: I just joined the forum last month. It took me a little while to maneuver the site. Just ask for help - any number of folks will help you out. They helped me right away. You might want to update your profile and include your location. This is helpful to the expert moderators to know you're growing environment. You'll find it under "User Settings" above, left, and then "edit profile." Good Luck. Last edited by Sharyn; 02-11-2007 at 12:16 PM. Reason: sp. |
