HoneyBee is on a distinguished road
Cool Hi from Freezing Toronto

Hi All,

I'm just caught up in the orchid frenzy like all of you. I just have a question for Cynthia: The tip of the leaves of my Chinese cymbidium are burned, can you offer some advice? I have the plant on a table next to a big Southern exposure window. I water the plant weekly, draining it well. The plant is also sitting on a gravel dish. I have been using a bloom buster fertilizer once a month, at 1/4 strength. Obviously it hasn't produce any flower stalks since I bought it in May 06.

Could be you have fairly hard water. Flushing the plant well when you water is about all you can do. I don't grow perfect looking plants, so I can't tell you how to.
