Vanda problem

My flowering vanda fell into an aquarium for 15 hours. The roots have mostly turned blackish although some are still mottled green. Some of the leaves have fallen off, but the others look good. Is there anything I can do except keep on doing what is normal for this type of orchid?

John

Ouch ! I can't think of anything special to do either except wait and see . Sometimes you gotta play it by ear and tackle the one problem at a time as it arises. You fished it out, that's the first ! After it airs out it should be ok . I would refrain form fertilizer for at least a week to get the weaken roots to recover a bit . Vandas are generally pretty tough and they love water, so I hope the damage ot yours is minimal. Good Luck..let us know the progress..

John, since this problem is so unusual, how about giving us an undate on how the plant is fairing.

There are some small changes in the plant: It is still alive and the newest leaf has grown some. The roots still look the same. I am treating the plant with "Super thrive" each time I water it.
