I recetly joined last week, and I have to say that this is a great forum. Right now I just have one Phal, i'm hoping to see it flower, i've read that it is a very rewarding experience. This is my first plant so your going to be seeing alot of me.

Unless you intend to have a lot more orchids in your home soon don't return to this forum! (jut kidding!). WELCOME. Seriously, I know of no one who has one orchid - for long. :-) Reminds me of the old Lays Potato Chip adds - "bet ya can't eat just one!". Did you purchase your phal not in bloom? That would be a most unusual purchase for a first time grower. You get to enjoy and appreciate the other parts of the plant as well - the roots and leaves have their own character that can be nearly as interesting as the flowers. Good luck! mike

It was in bloom when I got it but, never having experienced this before i'm sure it will be a treat. I'm so excited, I noticed a new leaf starting to come up yesterday.
