Woah!!!! That's a lot of babies there!! How many were in that flask Ron? Mine usually come with 16 to 25 depending on what type they are Phals are usually 16 or so sometimes there will be 20 if lucky

Hi Emmaye.
I usually only buy Flasks of Phal mericlones now, depending on the nurseury we get them from, it can range from 12 to 15 plants, most often 12 big plants only.
The flask of P. stuartina had about 20+ seedlings, about 12 of nice size and the rest rather small.

Now this lot was very good, of the 9 flasks of Phals. the species had 20+.
7 others had 15 plants and 1 had 14 plants, out of these there were 2 or so very small ones in each flask, so I guess 13 very good size plants.
Eventually over the next few weeks, out flasking group will take their share, I member has taken his 15 plants.
Otherwise I would run out of room and more importantly run out of money.
But it is a very enjoyable way to grow orchids.

It is just an interested group in our local club, who like to buy orchids cheep.
We (usually I) get imported flasks bought in by an agent/nursery.
We all have a pick on what we like, when they arrive I get the nice job () of deflasking them.
Usually they take them within a day of deflasking but if they leave them a week or month if I have the room no worrys, these are then some of the less experience growers and I harden the plants off for them.

Usually a nice group of friends working together. this way instead of me only having enought money to buy say 4 flasks we can get up to 10 to 12 different flasks and all get a few plants of each clone.
Builds up the collection quickly and cheeply.
