Unhappy Psychopsis 'Lace'

As usual, so please bear with me, I have a question re: my Psychopsis 'Lace'.
One of the back leaves is wilting. The others are perfect and the stem and the bud are good.
I'm wondering what is causing the leaf to flop over.
I phoned the nursery from which I bought it and was told to use a sterilized knife and go around the edges of the pot and slightly lift the tree fern medium to see if there were any green, healthy roots. I'm afraid the whole potting mix will fall apart.
I didn't do this as I killed one trying to repot it. So, I'm afraid to to what was recommended.
Might someone please be so kind as to provide feedback?
Thank you,
Leeflea.

Talking psychopsis

Hey Orchids4Me,
It might be an older leaf as underneath and in between it and another leaf a new leaf is forming.
Yes, I'll hang in there and thanks. L.

Is this the same orchid (Onc. Mendenhall 'Lace' x Onc. Mendenhall 'Bill Carter's Mendenhall') you posted about a while back?

Is it still growing and spiking in spite of the leaf?
