i would say that the ceologyne would actually be some form of dendrochilum, though this is only a very hesitant guess, and im only basing it on the fact that the spikes of yours and mine look the same

| Just a little updates and some OTs
Mabuhay! Quote:
Can you post me a link to your beautiful collection? With my ferns, aside from looking it up in the internet and asking the sellers their opinions regarding its cultural requirements, i always make sure that they are watered almost everyday especially when its hot, not full sun, sometimes i apply ferts, and if they like soil, i always use bag soils especially with coconut fibers...and then i pray to God that he let my plants live. hehehe I love ferns but there are some that can really be very very pricey and way out of reach of my pockets. hehehehheeOTs... So before i attend to a meeting this afternoon, i just took pictures of my fruit seedlinds and you all know its main purpose in the garden. hehehhee a jackfruit or locally known to us as "langka" a guyabano or graviola or sour sop of course my favorite of all, a starfruit or locally known to us as "kayomito". I put a stake because i want it to grow straight up and as much as possible would still let sunlight enter the garden grounds. But starfruits are massive trees. I forgot to add pictures of my rambutan. hahaahhaahha and pine trees as well. hahhaha. oh dear!!! what have i gotten myself into. My phals just wants to say hello to you all and thank you ...till next time Enjoy. Godbless everyone.

Mabuhay! Hey folks, i would like to share with you a blog about the Kadayawan festival where our National Orchid the "Waling-Waling" will always be the queen of vandas. http://pinoytrees.blogspot.com/2011/...ng-waling.html PS KADAYAWAN is a Bagobo term for celebration of a bountiful harvest, Kadayawan is derived from the aboriginal word "dayao" which means good or "madayaw," things that are of great value or is profitable, superior or beneficial. Enjoy.

All your plants look so happy, so free!!! You are so lucky to be able to grow them outside, just like they like it.... ![]() If you don't know how lucky you are.... One day (I am dreaming)...I'll take all my orchids and move to the place where they could be happy outside.... Actually, they have most of the house.... |

Cool, ang dami mong tanim na halaman. English translation-Cool, you have so many plants. Ang meron lang ako tatlong pirasong phalaenopsis. Yung 2 seedlings lang tas yung isa may spike pero walang bulaklak.- English translation.I only have 3 phalaenopsis. The 2 are still seedlings while the other one has a spike on it but does not have any buds or flowers. Dude san kaya maganda bumili ng mga phalaenopsis? English translation- Where can I buy phalaenopsis? Yung pwedeng e-ship papuntang Zamboanga City. I am from Zamboanga City; hence, there are also many orchids here. In fact, one of the highlights of the recently concluded city festival called the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival is the showcase of orchids which are for sale but most orchids that were there were dendrobiums and cattleyas. I wish there were more phalaenopsis and pansy orchids. |

Mabuhay! Thank you all for the comments. @arthur...hi kabayan. I love Zamboanga City, i bet you have a euanthe sanderiana? or our famous waling-waling. HOw come you only have 3 phalaenopsis? i love phalaenopsis but the beautiful ones are very pricey and maybe when i have enough moolah i'll buy the exotic looking ones. I'm not sure with pansy orchids because i think they will only thrive in cities like Baguio and Tagaytay unless you have an area like it in Zambo. Are you in the city proper? sometimes my work brings me to Zambo but I only stay in the city proper. Anyway, i'm glad to have found another kababayan ("fellow Filipino)Anyway, current bloomers in my garden. my blc keowee in full bloom and 2 NOIDS. Enjoy. Godbless

Yes, there are a lot of waling-waling here too. I only have three because I'm new to being an orchid fanatic. Hehehe. I 2 seedlings and 1 semi-matured plant with a spike but no bloom. The spike has already been cut when I bought it. Maybe it already bloomed so they cut it. Also I do live in the city proper. If you visit Zamboanga I advise you to go to Plaza Pershing. Adjacent to that area is where they sell a lot of orchids and other ornamental plants and even fruit trees. Another location is near City hall. |

Hi there! Love your photos! I am from Phil too years ago! Amazing plant photos! Though I cannot stand anymore the incredulous humidity we are having there, I know the humidity loving plants are loving it so much! It sure is not the temperature I knew growing up there. Keep the photos coming! It also helps sometimes in our hometown longing!
