My project Encyclia

Hey all. Thought I would finally post about my project hybrids! Here's the first one, the Encyclia Atronecium. I potted it in a mix of coconut coir and fir bark.
When I first got it (a few months ago now!), the newest growth was just a tiny nub. It is now about 6+ inches tall and still growing. Yay!
It's outside for the summer, which means it is near 90 F or above almost every day and nights aren't dropping below 65. It's in the backyard on the orchid bench under a 60% shade cloth.

Hi, it looks very healthy and it is obvious that you are doing everthing right with the plant. It would be nice to see pics when the blooms appear.

Bill

Woo-Hoo! It looks really good! It's good to know that they can tolerate heat swings, etc. Mine is indoors, at a pretty steady temp. (where I am, I can't put any outside) Thanks for the up-dates!
