Cathy Beck one month after opening!

It's been a month since Cathy opened up for me. She's still putting on a nice show. I love this plant! I was experimenting with different lighting. (and yes, that's frost on the window behind it.) Grrrr....

VERY pretty!!

As for the frost....don't feel like a lone ranger...frost will be hitting here tonight too. They're talking down into the low 30's. Fall is finally here.

I especially like the angle in which you photographed the flower. It is better than mine.

Cathy Beck flowers have a 60 day half life so your results are normal. Mine have been flowering for some time and I cut off many stems that had finished. 8 plants so far have put out a second round of flowers. Since blooming season is Oct to Feb for this plant I am thinking 3-4 blooming groups a year can be expected.

This plant is a Canaculatum and Canaculatum are know for flowering multiple time over 6-8 months.

- Jerry, for this plant! All the plants that I got from you are doing well. I'll probably be ordering from you come spring. We already have the cold weather. There's even snow in the forecast this week. That's early even for us!

I'm looking forward to watching "Cathy" as she progresses. There's a new growth that's been doing well, while she's been blooming!

Patti, it is beautiful. The one I got from Jerry recently is down to just two buds. Lost one more yesterday. Think something may be eating it.
We are having a warmer than usual fall this year. No rain yet and nice sunny days still. Nights are cooler though. We are hoping for lots of snow in the mountains since that means snowboarding season.

Patti, How's your telepathy? My C.B. has great roots, lots of leaves and a really, really fat pbulb, but it could use a little nudge when it comes to throwing a spike... Please send some "get growing" thoughts our way... TIA

Wow Patti! Nice blooms.... After my CB lost its spike to the cat I threw it outside for the summer. I don't know about the rest of you but my new growth is close to 2 inches taller than the other pseudobulbs.... I wish I could take a picture but I've been without a camera for most of the summer.. I should be getting one shortly than I will post. It's been a busy summer and I'm looking forward to getting back to my winter OrchidGeeks forums. I just couldn't find any time to keep up on the reading...

Hey Doc! That's a four letter word! We haven't had any of that yet, but several frosts.

Thank all for the nice words.

Snow Frost Wow, I guess I've been lucky so far. We've had great fall weather, even some 70F days and mid 40F-50's nights. The trees are glorious in their color. Good temps for my nobiles

Back to topic: Patti: I love this little plant and your blooms are super delightful. Mine is growing like kazjak's. I lost the first Cathy, but Jerry was kind enough to send me another to try - so far, so good. Hopefully, next year I'll get some blooms. Thanks for posting your pictures and updates.
