Cathy Beck update

It is really late but I promise to post some pictures tomorrow.

I have a question though...my plant has a spike, buds and even blooms but it lost all of its leaves. Now I know that these Minis tend to do that but another thing that I noticed is that it had another sike coming up. The plant now had two spikes at one point. All of sudden 2-3 days pass and I notice the leaves off and the new spike brown and dried. The flowers are still open and the spike stem is still green...but I don't know. Roots are 'ok'...no new growths but not rot either.

I was wondering if anyone can fill me in or maybe it has happen to them. I personally think the plant is alright...don't think it is in any trouble.

Like I said pics tomorrow...

Thank you guys!

Hi Damien! When you say started to grow a new spike- do you mean a new growth? Leaves, etc.? Mine is in spike but still has it's leaves and all.... We have TOTALLY different growing conditions, however- I'm looking forward to the pictures.

No, I mean I had two canes...one has no leaves and a healthy spike with buds and bloomsand the other cane had a new smaller spike but now it is dried and brown. Like it stop growing and died.

The pic on the left is the before...there is a leaf and a smaller spike along the mature one.

The pics on the right of that pic is what I am have mentioned. The small spike has browned out and the leaves have fallen. Like I said, I am not worried YET...just curious. I have seen Jerry's pics of his healthy leafless Cathys. Also, my gives me peace of mind is the fact that the flowers continue to open and the roots are not rotting.

It looks thirsty to me...but that could be because mine is super-plump and bright green. If your roots are healthy though, maybe there isn't too much to worry about?
