Cathy Beck in spike

My Cathy Beck (finally) is sending out a spike! It's on top of the new growth. There's also a new growth starting at the base.(that doesn't show in this picture) The roots are going a little bonkers, as well. Lol

The pot is cute, Patti. Is that the experimental one from Jerry Meola?

Yes, it's one of the ones from the hybrid project that we got from Jerry. I'm so happy that it's spiking. I'm looking forward to seeing the blooms.

That's the first bloomer that I've heard of from either project. I'm very happy for you, Patti!

My Naples nights is in bloom, also. I'm really happy about that, too! I think a few others have had those 2 plants bloom already. I had the Aspasia lunata bloom from the species project, and I know some others have too.- It's exciting to see them come along...

Yay! Looks great. I knew it wouldn't be long! I was surprised at how long the flowers lasted. I bet Jenny's will start spiking soon too! Way to go Patti!

Thanks, April & Kortney! I'm looking forward to them also. I have a noid Den that's almost ready to open. I'm excited, because these were my only 2 Dens until a little while ago. This is my first time with either of them blooming!

I just noticed a bent spike (the top of the cane was resting against the window) on one of my Phal type Dends this week. I was surprised because normally my Dends don't start flowering until a bit later. At least I know this will be a more successful year than last year... only one plant put on a few feeble flowers (and then I accidentally broke all but one of them off!). Maybe this is a good sign that I'm doing something a little better this year!

Please post photos when the blooms open!!! The anticipation is always a bit like a child waiting for Christmas... it's so exciting!

Chef! It's good to hear from you! I haven't seen your posts lately- I'm glad your CB is in spike, too! Mine stalled for a long time at first, too.- I'm glad they came around.

Berkeleysgr8- My noid Den opened! 2 blooms- I'll take photos tomorrow- It's pretty! I never saw it in bloom, so you never know what you'll get with a rescue! Cathy is getting bigger! I can't wait for those blooms to open!

Thank you, Patti. It's great to have time to get back. I thought I lost most of my plants due to total lack of care and dry, dry indoor environment, but, I have been blessed.

I can't wait to see all the Cathy Beck's. I bet we'll have quite a few at one time!
