Cathy Beck-update

Here is a picture of my little Cathy Beck, she lost one leaf, but is doing OK.

No new growth yet. I decided to move her to my quilt room window with supplemental light, to see if she will grow better.

She is sooo cute! What Kind of light is she in, now? They like good light as long as they have moisture, too. Not soggy, though! Mine gets watered when it is approaching dry, but it doesn't sit in it! I have mine in a south window.

I had her in a south window, but moved her to a west window with supplemental light.

I water the same as you!

Mine's only been getting once a week waterings lately because I'm struggling with health and work. But then we're very humid and for the past 2 days its been raining out. The rain doesn't reach the plants but they have a good amount of humidity from it.

How often are you watering?

I think I wasn't watering enough, but now I water when the media is just barely dry.

That might be too much watering as well. I just mist mine at the base with worm tea every other day, and water twice a week, if that.

Ok,
I will try misting every other day with worm tea, and then see how it looks for watering. I am not as dry as your place, so I think once a week for water.

I am willing to give it a try.
I watered today so will mist tomorrow.

FYI, I think I recall Jerry saying something about the orchids that were grown in trays taking about a month to establish themselves. It took me a good month with my CB, but now I have a very healthy looking new growth with four or five leaves. I am growing tons of new roots that are fat and white with green tips

To add to your confusion , I mist mine daily with worm tea (count twenty squirts from the spray bottle) and water well once a week to ten days depending on how the pot feels...Let us know of your progress and how you re growing her

I'm with you patlee, I water once a week, sometimes, longer, with all my Dends. They don't suffer for it but they would if I increased the watering. Bone dry before I water again and no misting whatsoever except for a Physan20 spray about once a month, especially now in this steam bath weather I'm in.

I think I am Ok with watering once a week, I will see how the pot feels and try a small mist of worm tea.

I have had Cathy for a month and a half.

Hmmm I may be watering too often. At least now I don't have to panic when I realize its been 6 days since my last watering.

Keep in mind that how much everyone waters will depend on their environment. Even though my plants are in S/H, I have to water 3-4 times a week right now. Try the skewer method to see if it is getting too dry in the center between waterings.
