Cathy Beck in S/H

Is anyone growing this plant in s/h? I put mine in it last week. It is just starting to grow new roots now.

I have mine in Schultz's orchid mix. w/ a little sphag thrown in. I haven't tried s/h yet... I'm not very adventurous! Good luck with her!

yes Jenny. I put it in SH and it woke up. I imagine the temperature in the mid 80s also help to encourage fast growth.

wow, that looks great! I have never used s/h before so when I get mine I might go for that.
Is s/h a hydroponic material? How do you water using it?

Wow,look at that growth!! There is a little store around the corner from me. It has hydroponic and light gardening "stuff". I think I will have to check them out this weekend and see what they can do for the chids

Wow!!! Nice growth. I just checked mine and I've got a "NUB" starting at the bottom. No where near your growth though. They seem to like the S/H though! I just can't wait to get my plants outside so I can start seeing some serious growth out of Jerry's plants. All are in S/H....

So here's my Cathy Beck after a summer of MSU and being outside... I'd say it's taken to the S/H quite well! It has even started to spike! I can't believe the new growth stands so much taller than the others.. So much for miniature....

It looks really good. It's still miniature compared to most I think. Mine's been in bloom for about 2 mos., now. It still looks great. Make sure you post a pic when it blooms!

Kid a - S/H means Semi-Hydroponic. It is a method of growing without bark or other organic media.

Sarahplo - here is the S/H sticky. S/H method explained
