| project locked and loaded! I wasn't sure how I was going to grow my Den Cathy Beck but I finally decided to pot it in S\H. Here's the pic.... I went a little S/H crazy tonight. I only have 3 plants left that AREN'T in S/H. I'll list them all in a S/H thread. ![]()

| there's nothing else but LECA in there. You're just seeing moisture from the S/H doing its job.

| I haave grown a lot of dens in s/h. They do exceptionally well. I do fine they need regular fertilizer to make up for the sterile medium.

| thanks Solay... Everything has easily doubled in size since 2 years ago.. I have a lot of yard and I'm tired of mowing so I just keep expanding my Perennial beds. I just tilled up another large section of my yard about 100 X 40 feet for a rose garden (hopefully as nice as yours) and other plants I spent all spring germinating. I can't wait till next year! I'm not sure I'll get many flowers this year. I also planted a bunch of running Bamboo down by the pond... Can't wait for that to take off!

| Greg, what temp are you keeping your CB at and how much light are you giving it? I don't have my CB in S/H, but My Cathy Beck is near the windowsill with temps between 73-78 degrees. I mist/water every other day from the medium drying out.

| Jenny, I keep mine about 8 inches from a South window. The cat needs 8 inches or he'll make 8 inches.... I don't give it any specific temperatures other than whatever the Dining room is at during the day and night... sorry I'm not more specific. Look at it this way.. ***I like the windows and doors open whenever possible so Low 70's during the day... My wife gets cold at night so she closes everything and turns the heat on when the temps dip to 60 at night.*** The windows are never open where the plants are. As soon as the night temps outside stay above 50 all the high light orchids will be tossed outside. CB seems to like it. I also have a Bollopetalum right next to it about to open 3 blooms. Something is right about the place they sit.. Maybe Gideon (cat) is doing some secret gardening while we're away.

| Kazjak, that sounds like a lot of hard work and fun. I think your roses are going to come out beautiful. I see you got some day lilies too. Maybe we can trade one day. Anyhow, I forgot to mention I love the white picket fence too. I've been nagging my husband to get one around the front yard. They have that old fashioned nostalgic feel to them. One thing at a time I keep telling myself. Thanks Tobi, I will look into that and maybe try it.
