| oops - I meant to submit a cropped photo of 1st orchid I'm a major newbie!! I was looking for some info and stumbled upon the photo contest. Attached are three of my photos for consideration. I guess I would say I'm a somewhat expeienced ( so long as that doesn't mean knowledgeable) amateur. I'm looking for info regarding post-bloom care. I've heard different things regarding cutting the ?stalk. Sorry, I haven't done much research yet. I got sidetracked by the photo comp. Last edited by Laurelai; 07-08-2007 at 01:49 PM. | amateur - phal - NOID these are the only 2 phals i bought in bloom, all the others have been out of bloom. i took these pictures with the sun coming through the window from behind and to my right (facing the flower). i used a "flower" setting on the camera, got really close until the camera wouldn't accept the focus, backed off a bit, and took the pictures (also propped the elbows on the table for steadiness)! i am quite happy how the little sparkles got highlighted by the sun! | I have been thinking and thinking about what photo to enter this month. Today I realized I would be silly if I didn't submit my Robert's Delight #31 in full bloom. The weather has turned into true Florida, high humidity all day and strong downpours in afternoon/evening. I placed my vanda's in the Southern Elm in the front yard and they are loving it! Here they are. #1 is a display of all my vanda's. Robert's Delight #31 in full bloom, Robert's Delight Pachara Red already bloomed out and my species Vanda. #2 and #3 are Robert's Delight #31. Robert's Delight #31 is so heavy with bloom it won't stay upright no matter what I do. HPNX0594.jpg HPNX0599.jpg HPNX0601.jpg I'm an amateur using a DVDcam with no flash. (That's why all my pics are natural light!)
