I'm going to second or third a vote for the secret judge being jerrymeola. Obviously a true orchid geek and he's helped me in the past with testing light levels with a digital camera.

Guess who ?

There were some questions as to the Judge's credentials, well I have been a professional photographer for 35 plus years, won international photo competitions in my field, run an international conference on Ophthalmic Photography, have a certificate in commercial photography and certified in the U.S. in Ophthalmic Photography.

The rest I am too old to remember.

Hope this qualifies me to judge ?

Congratulations to the winners, I had fairly strict criteria which I am only too happy to reveal and these people deserved their wins.

Our aim in starting this competition is to improve the quality of images that people upload, and to make this the best quality photo flower forum on the Web.

I will continue with the Photo 101 lessons to help inexperienced photographers.

This is a FUN EVENT AND NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY!

Pikevi, yes, I use Sodium Fluorescein injected into a vien to photographically document retinal vasculature in onditions such as severe diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, and other conditions which afect the blood flow in the eye.

Lucinda, thank you for your kind comments AND your vote, I think the world needs more laughter, and I have a dry, often times, sick sense of humor, but that is just me. Sometimes a bit of laughter is good to defuse situations as well.

My problem is, quite often I can't help myself.

I can assure you, it definately aint me, as I am going to be away on holidays when the judging is due.

I am going to Kangaroo Island, and hopefully may be able to post images of wild Oz native orchids as we are going to the native flower farm.

Don't feel like a duffer , I did the exact same thing the other night with that thread from what's his name?......he was selling a whole bunch of orchids. I was busy looking up all the names and was ready to buy quite a few. I even emailed this man to tell him I was ready to buy.....a whole bunch of cattleyas. 45 minutes of researching and then I saw it................November, 2006 was when it had been posted.

Congratulations Sandra and Anton. This is the first thread I've looked at since getting home. I'll need to find out who the most helpful is, photo experienced, etc.

Anton, you were an excellent choice for judge. I haven't given up on my determination of a better picture. I am having flash problems. I will continue. AND I will keep trying. Everyone here makes it fun to do so.

When it comes to cats, I HAVE NO SENSITIVITIES.

They kill our native birds that's taken me years to entice into our yard, they spray all over our yard, on my pots, car windscreens (sheer Hell when you turn the car aircon on in the morning, makes your eyes water), they fight and howl outside of our bedroom window, poop everywhere.

I HATE CATS !

I there is one thing that'll bring out the Mr. Hyde in me it's cats.

Fred, I've hidden under a bramble bush, she shouldn't be able to reach me there.
