Okay - Round two for me! Pics from yesterday vanished into an alternate universe somewhere...... I used to be quite an avid photographer with my own darkroom and 35mm gear about 30 years ago but have not been active for some time. Would like to purchase some good digital equipment some day, but for now am handcuffed with only an inexpensive point and shoot compact camera (Olympus C60) - but at least these pics will give one an idea of what might be done with little gear. I'm going to assume that these pics should be plants from our own collection? Here goes! ![]() Pot. Little Toshie 'Gold Country' - purchased from Trader Joes last summer for the enormous sum of $7.98! ![]() Blc Loveknow v. coreulea - acquired in our society raffle a year ago for $1 ![]() NOID zygopetalum - purchased at Safeway approximately a year ago - plant has bloomed twice more since its initial bloom including right now. Unfortunately it is not fragrant like so many zygos are. Okay! Now you REAL photographers with the great gear can continue on and show your stuff! mike |

Here's my pikkie, a Dendrobium kingianum flower. I wonder if Cynthia is the "Secret judge" ?

A photographer, I'M NOT........yet. I'll get there but in the meantime, here's my beautiful Lady Slipper Paphiopedium "Raisin Pie." Anton, Last edited by sandra; 04-17-2007 at 07:46 AM. Reason: hadn't read the rules for the 3 photos maximum! |

Took some more photos of my pretty Lady Slipper. I feel like a proud mother bragging. Bill, the colors are even more spectacular in person! Last edited by sandra; 04-17-2007 at 10:34 AM. |

Am I allowed to comment in this section about how incredibly beautiful all these photos are? ALL OF THEM ARE SPECTACULAR. I've just got to say that the one that Bill C has up....the last one is dreamy. Tho the subject itself is enough to behold, the entire picture is just gorgeous.

OK, I'll give it a go. That is if I can thumbnail it, but so far I've failed, even with the how 2 in newbies. If this works, it'll be Laelia pumila 'Robyn'.

Here are my photo entries. I'm a newbie to all of this. Any advice on identifying the pink orchid would be much appreciated. ![]() This one is a mini-phal. ![]() I'm not sure... didn't have a label. I think it's a phal. I love the stripes! A |

Ok, here are my two entries for this month's contest: Paph Conco-bellatulum. My photographing experience is virtually nil. A few months ago I had bought a nice digital and was beginning to learn but then it was stolen. Before that I used only disposable cameras Last edited by kmarch; 04-26-2007 at 11:59 PM. |

well i was just going to edit my post, but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore :P I suppose I'd consider myself a "keen amateur" as I've never been formally trained in anything regarding photography aside from how to work a darkroom. If you've never been in a darkroom, i recommend it. Sadly, it's somewhat of a dying art, so you might be hard pressed to find a working one. |

You SHOULD be able to edit, do it regularly because of my typing dyslexia. It's the fingers' fault !

Vivienne, I think your pic of ' April Bloomers ' might have done well in the May comp. It is a nice arrangement. Hi Woods, I guess you will have to put your pink phal down as a NOID. There are a zillion crosses of Phals and the possibility of coming up with an ID is very remote. Just enjoy it; lovely plant!! ![]() Bill Last edited by BillC; 04-29-2007 at 09:24 AM. |

Can't figure out how to edit my previous post so I'll have to add a post with my April Comp pictures. I sort of blew it with my last picture. My photographic skills - just family snaps which aren't very good. Here are my paphs. - Paph. Hsinying Majukan x Paph. lawrenceanum (green) - Paph. NoID Last edited by Vivienne; 04-29-2007 at 05:56 PM. Reason: better pictures |
