| Orchidgeeks Monthly Photo Competition
From time to time I get PMs asking about the photo comp, why it's lapsed and what's happened. I'm sorry to announce the photo comp has been temporarily suspended. If you've been a follower or participant of the contest you've noticed that quite a bit goes into the results, trophies placed on winners' signatures along with their winning photos, listing of awards in the Hall of Fame. This all requires a fair bit of photo resizing and graphics work, more than Fred or I can take on at present with our current life and work loads. The photo comp has been a remarkably positive feature of the forum for quite a long time and it has been a kind of archive not just of members' orchids but of their improvement in growing and photographing over the years. It has even produced 2 calendars! I'll be happy to get the comp back up and running when our schedules lighten or if we can get a few volunteers to help us with some of these technical things. Please let me know if you might be able to help us in this regard. Thank you

i could help too, i can use computers well and im sure that what im not to sure on, i could find some help, i would love to be able to help out on the forum, i LOVE it, it is one of the very few places where i can talk and ask questions about orchids, whithout having to worry about what people will think

i have a lot of experience with computer photo work and would be happy to spend some time each month processing things. my hubby has started up photography and it made me really pine for a place to show off our efforts and learn from folks. i also sugest that when things do start back up that we hold a first contest for the design of the awards icons!!
