Am I considered a Novice or Intermediate? I only have experience with P&S camera, used P&S cameras for several years. My camera I have now is still a P&S but has manual functions, it is my first cam with manual functions. I use the manual functions, but I don't know exactly if I'm using them properly. Never had photography classes.

Depends on your skill level of photography, based on your brief description here I would probably start out as novice. Once you win three times in one category you will have to advance to intermediate. Having seen your work in other posts you certainly could enter as intermediate though

I am a huge advocate of manual functions, I am still in love with my 35mm and have a hard time giving it up. But I also do use a digi and are slowly becoming used to it! I do believe however learning the manual functions of a camera provides the user with a better understanding of photography. It really allows the user to read a scene / subject and obtain the desired results by undertanding light, subject, depth of field, focus, f-stops etc...
I used to have a full functioning dark room, but now do not have the space for it and really miss it!!! One day I'll have it back up and functioning.

I look forward to seeing more of your photography!
